How the app is structured
How MatheArena Junior is structured
The app is divided into three areas: School, Learning and Arena.
School
This is where the tasks that teachers assign as quizzes via the Teacher Dashboard end up. Students can see at a glance which exercises are still open and how they solved the ones they have already completed.
Teachers only see the tasks they have actively assigned. In all other areas of the app, students can try things out on their own and even make mistakes without being watched.
Learning
In the Learning area, students work on tasks that automatically adapt to their pace. They can choose to learn by topic or in line with their textbook and curriculum.
A notes function helps students write down their working, and the AI chat gives hints without immediately revealing the solution. If a careless mistake slips in, there is a second attempt, and an explanation is available to read after every task.
With individually adjustable learning streaks, students decide for themselves which days they practice and for how long, with no artificial pressure to use the app every day.
Arena
In the Arena, math becomes a game: minigames and duel mode provide motivation without losing sight of real learning progress. For many students, math becomes something that sparks curiosity rather than scaring them off.
MatheArena Junior & VERITAS textbooks
MatheArena Junior is aligned with the VERITAS math series in terms of content, but works just as well independently of any textbook series.
- Grade 5 can use the app completely free of charge, regardless of which textbook is used.
- From grade 6: anyone working with VERITAS math textbooks including E-Book PLUS unlocks the PREMIUM version for free with the digi4school code.
If you use a different textbook or have not ordered an E-Book PLUS, you can purchase the PREMIUM version on the Marktplatz Lernapps.

MatheArena Junior in the classroom
MatheArena Junior can be used in class in two ways: for free learning, where students practice independently, or in a guided way via the Teacher Dashboard, which lets you assign and evaluate tasks in a targeted manner.
With this tool you can complement your lessons digitally. From selecting tasks to managing your class, you stay fully in control. In the dashboard you put together suitable exercises for your class, track the progress of individual students and the whole class, and evaluate the results.

How do I set up my class in the Teacher Dashboard?
Create a class and the matching join link and QR code are generated automatically. Simply share them with your students. They download the MatheArena learning app, register and join your class via the link.
Is MatheArena Junior free?
Yes. The free version includes 300 basic tasks and the duel feature. All tasks, minigames and the AI chat are available with a Premium subscription for €24.99 per year.
Which devices does MatheArena Junior run on?
As an app (iOS/Android) and in the browser as a web version.
Is MatheArena Junior compatible with VERITAS textbooks?
Yes. From grade 6, the digi4school code for VERITAS E-Book PLUS textbooks unlocks the Premium version for free. The app also works independently of any textbook series.
Is MatheArena Junior safe for your child / GDPR-compliant?
Yes. MatheArena only processes the data needed to operate, stores it mainly on servers in the EU and meets the requirements of the GDPR, including rights of access, erasure and objection.
